Chelsea Sugar is a finalist in the Workplace, Marketplace and Strategy & Governance categories of the Sustainable 60 Awards – three of the four categories we entered. The other categories are Environment and Community. In addition to this we have also been named as a finalist in the overall large business category.
Here's what we have been doing in those categories:
Workplace – for our health and wellbeing programme where employees are supported in fitness and health programmes.
Marketplace – for our customer value proposition programme where we work with customers to identify how we can add value to their business.
Strategy & Governance – for the journey we have taken to develop our sustainability strategy.
We also have numerous environmental initiatives leading to energy, waste and water reductions and we support community initiatives such as Project K, Tiritiri Maitangi and the Salvation Army.
The Sustainble 60 Awards are the pre-eminent awards in New Zealand for recognising sustainable businesses. Past winners include BECA, Bank of New Zealand, Auckland Airport and Resene Paints. This year there were 55 entries into the awards with only the top 3-4 in each category reaching the finals.
The winners will be announced at an awards evening on 28th November 2012. Click here to read more about the finalists.
